Enchanted Christmas Tree Lighting 2017

"Be Our Guest, Be Our Guest – put our service to the test"
and join us for an enchanting evening of Christmas in Charleston’s historic City Market.

The Charleston City Market will hold its second annual Christmas Tree Lighting in Anson Square on Friday, December 8 at 7:30 pm. In conjunction with its Toys for Tots drive, the Market’s tree lighting ceremony is a enchanting event that is especially geared for children. And a "Beauty", a "Beast", and of course, jolly old St. Nick.

Amid joyful singing from Mason Prep’s 2nd grade choir, Belle, the intelligent and beautiful character from Disney’s "Beauty and the Beast", will arrive in Anson Square at 7:15 in a gleaming white carriage from neighboring Palmetto Carriage Company. Children - of all ages - will delight when the Beast saunters in and takes Belle’s hand as the duo break into energetic song. The Beast will then present his Beauty to "The Little Dickens Carolers" where she’ll join that ensemble for additional songs. Then comes the magic moment of more than one thousand Christmas tree lights suddenly reflected in the eyes of all our guests. "Be Our Guest", as the Disney song goes, "Be Our Guest", and join us as we light our massive tree and open a festive evening of shopping in our Night Market.

Present a toy to one of our Marines for their Toys for Tots barrel and receive a free hot chocolate in return. Santa, perched in his sleigh, will be sipping hot chocolate as well, and anxious to hear your every Christmas wish. Stroll the Market after the lighting ceremony, well into the evening, right along with Belle and the Beast.

Belle will be portrayed by Alexas Thomas form the "ShowTime" Production Company in Rock Hill SC
